H!O Tracker Shut Down + Updates

As many of you may know, Hello!Online’s owner Haku has decided to shut down the tracker, effectively ending torrents there. Firstly, we should all thank Haku for all of the years he has dedicated to this site. That’s a huge feat, and he deserves praise. That being said, he has made his decision, and we should all respect it. As someone mentioned before on H!O, closing down this site was probably not an easy decision, so we shouldn’t berate him into having to explain himself. That’s just downright disrespectful in my opinion.

Formalities aside, let’s get to the root of this post. H!O has long been our main platform for our releases, and now that it is gone, we have to look at other options. The staff and I evaluated several options, and we came to the conclusion that nothing will ever be able to replace H!O. Therefore, whatever option we choose, we will have to make some compromises. It then became a matter of which cons we were willing to compromise the most with. We took into account previous requests for release formats, such as streaming, and came up with a list of options.

I personally have kept a careful eye on the discussion going on in the H!O forums, and frankly, everyone is split. It seems like most major uploaders and seeders are going their separate ways. I was willing to hold an open discussion among the major uploaders to see if some consensus could be made. In the end, nothing in terms of a consensus was accomplished, and here we are now.

I took into account several factors when proposing a solution to the NKM48 staff, including personal preferences, best longevity, fans’ requests, ease of use, etc. The proposal that I put forth was to utilize two additional services: JpopSuki + Dailymotion. The staff voted, and it was almost unanimously voted in favor for by the present members.

Therefore, we will now offer streaming services on Dailymotion (DM) by posting the PRIVATE video links on our site here in order to avoid having our account taken down. Do NOT share the video links to other sites, but instead, you should link them to our site here. We are doing this as a service to the fans, so please do not abuse it.

In addition to DM, we have decided to go with Jpopsuki (JPS) as our new tracker home for our torrents. JPS may be difficult to learn and have strict rules, but this was the tracker we felt most comfortable moving forward with. Some of the reasons included it being a private tracker, organized, and reliable torrent health (a.k.a. torrents don’t die off quickly). JPS is normally an invitation-only private community, but REGISTRATION IS OPEN RIGHT NOW. I HIGHLY recommend opening an account, even if you don’t plan on using it often. Please do realize that JPS is being very gracious in welcoming everyone from H!O, so please do not take that kindness for granted and try to follow all of the rules and not give their moderator any trouble.

Anyways, here’s a few more updates on some projects for you guys!

1. Konya wa Otomari + Shikiritai: Work on this is slowly progressing due to the main translator Ursa being away for a while. I’m working on it whenever I have a spare moment, but I’m sorry I can’t work on this any more quickly. I have a lot of real life priorities I need to take care of.
2. NogiEigo: The staff members who were working on this took a hiatus to take care of real life issues, so this project is currently on hold for the foreseeable future.
3. AKBSHOW: We’re slowly but surely catching up. Nura from Nura Subs has agreed to join us as a TC to help me out with the workload. A HUGE thank you to her!
4. LODs: We have two NGT48 LOD performances that we are working on, and there will be huge announcements accompanying these releases.
5. NGT48 Appeal Comment Videos: Boke from Boke Subs happens to be a Kitarie and NGT48 oshimen, so we were talking and the topic just came up. Therefore, we are collaborating together to release the NGT48 Sousenkyo Appeal Comment Videos! We are actually almost done with these, so look forward to those soon!
